What is a typical solar setup?

A typical solar setup in a RV consists of a few technical components. Firstly the solar panel which harvests the power from the sun, then the solar charge controller which converts the voltage from the solar panel to a voltage more suitable for the battery, The battery/s which is the heart of the system which stores all the power harvested from the panels to be used when required, and the inverter (optional) - which converts the voltage stored in the battery cells to 240 volts (household voltage) so we can run all your favorite household appliances.

Can I run all appliances in my caravan?

Absolutely, we can install inverters and converters to allow you to run and type of appliance you need whether it be 5v, 12v, 110v, or 240v. Get in touch to find out how

How will I know how much solar power I have left?
We can install a battery monitor to take the guess work out for you. The monitor tells you the state of charge (How much percentage of battery storage you have left) current power usage, how much is going in, how much is going out, and time remaining until the battery is flat. Not only that but they can also Bluetooth to your phone so you have it all in the palm of your hand. See the installations page for photos of the monitors in action.

Can I customise my solar system?

Of course, nearly every system we install has been customised one way or another, no two systems are the same.

I only have a small van can I still use solar?

Yes, you can, even if you have limited roof space we can design a system using fold-out solar panels or solar blankets. Get in touch to find out more.
